Congratulations to client Dawn Virnig, whose debut novel The American took first place for Romance Fiction in the 2014 Pike’s Peak Zebulon Contest.
Her novel is about an American woman who must trust a shady Australian tour guide to protect her after she stumbles upon a secret mining operation in China.
Dawn said that she was thrilled with the win and validation to brought for all her hard work. “This is a thriller I’ve been working on for three and a half years. I’ve re-written the first part of it at least fifty times. I’ve submitted it to beta readers, agents, and contests, all with the “you’re almost there” feedback. But it was under Lori DeBoer’s coaching that I rewrote this latest incarnation… and then entered the contest/”
