The Boulder Book Store has asked me to host an ongoing book club at the store. The aptly named Lori DeBoer’s Writing Book Club will meet on Wednesday, August 20 at 7 p.m. at the Boulder Book Store, 1107 Pearl St., Boulder.
There is no charge for this event, and it is open to the public. No RSVP is required, just show up.
At the August meeting we will be discussing Wild by Cheryl Strayed.
This book club is just like a regular book club, but we’ve kicked it up especially for writers, to include a discussion of the writing. In other words, we’ll dig into what about the book attracts readers. We’ll talk about all of the ways the author used the book’s plot, pacing, dialogue, characterization, voice, narrative arc and scene-setting to make the book unique and readable – great tips for writers looking to do the same.
Meetings will occur regularly on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Boulder Book Store.
