I am proud to announce that two of my clients, Judy Rose and Kim Lajevardi, are finalists in the Colorado Gold Writing Contest, sponsored by Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers. They both finished in the mainstream category.
Judy Rose, Centennial, Colorada, is a finalist for Burn. A work of historical fiction, her story takes place during the height of the 100 Years War, when two teenage brothers in the service of Charles VII are tasked with protecting their sister, Joan of Arc. Burn has already been recognized by the Sothern California Region of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), winning first place in the Young Adult Category. Judy’s first book, Miss, is represented by the Sheldon Fogelman Agency and will be released in 2014. (www.jrrose.net)
Kim Lajevardi , Westminster Colorado, is a finalist for Silent Witnesses. Her book uses three distinct points of view to explore the ramifications of being a silent bystander to someone else’s horror and how even inaction can have consequences. Kim is a middle school science teacher and mother who writes in both the mainstream and fantasy genres.
