Teresa Louis, Boulder, Colorado, was accepted for Looking for Home, work of historical fiction. It tells the story of 16-year-old Eliska who emigrates from Bohemia to to Nebraska in the 1890s and struggles to find her place in her new home. Her struggles include confronting prejudice, learning a new language and living on the plains during a time of drought and depression. Teresa’s poems and articles have been published in a variety of venues. Looking for Home is her second YA novel. Her first, The Heart’s Holy Grail, is currently under submission to agents. Teresa works as a private writing consultant, both privately and at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
Paula Glascock, Lakewood, Colorado, was accepted for her young adult novel, Murder for a Jar of Red Rum. Part of an ongoing series, it tells the story of 14-year-old twins whose parents are kidnapped by an underground organization that is bent on taking over the world’s art and antiquities. To rescue their parents and save their own skins, they must navigate through amaze of secret codes, traps, betrayal and death. Paula is a retired English teacher and Physician Assistant. She enjoys travel, reading, painting, watching the Broncos and spending time with her family and friends. She is married with grown children and two granddaughters.
